What Peru CPCs reveal

  1. /01

Insurance is the most expensive category in the market

US$ 1.92 average CPC and a US$ 2.97 peak on "seguro vehicular". In categories like this, every point of organic share you win translates directly into media budget freed up.

  2. /02

Volume and price rarely travel together

Retail and ecommerce hold the panel's largest search volumes at rock-bottom CPCs, while service sectors with modest volumes pay several dollars per click. Budgeting on volume alone leads to bad calls.

  3. /03

Arbitrage sits where CPC is high and difficulty is low

Cross the average CPC and average KD columns in the table. Sectors above one dollar CPC with low KD deliver the best return on an SEO programme in the first twelve months.

  4. /04

CPC is the best translator of SEO into finance language

Committees do not approve budget for sessions or rankings. They do approve it when they see the paid-media equivalent of the organic traffic you will capture. This dataset exists so you can build that number.

  5. /05

CPCs rise every year and organic gets more profitable

Auction inflation is structural: more advertisers competing for the same inventory, with less visible organic space on the SERP. The cost of not investing in organic grows every quarter.

Cross-referenced with the CTR curve

What ranking first is worth per month in each Peru sector

We apply the real position 1 CTR in Peru (20.74%) to each sector's volume and value it at the sector's average CPC, in US dollars. On top of that base we apply a 2x to 3x long-tail factor, because a page ranking first for the head keyword also captures hundreds of long-tail variants. The range is the monthly Google Ads equivalent you save by capturing that traffic organically.

Figures in US dollars (USD). The low end of the range assumes 2x the head-keyword traffic in this sample and the high end 3x, to account for the long tail that comes with those heads. It is still conservative: it excludes keywords outside the sample and any brand value.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average CPC in Peru in 2026?

+

Across this sample of 41 commercial keywords in 14 sectors, the average CPC in Peru is US$ 0.59. The spread is wide: Insurance averages US$ 1.92 while Retail & ecommerce sits at just US$ 0.08.

Which sector has the highest CPC in Peru?

+

Insurance, with an average CPC of US$ 1.92 and a peak of US$ 2.97 on the keyword "seguro vehicular". It is also where SEO pays back fastest: every organic click you capture there replaces an expensive paid one.

Why is CPC shown in dollars rather than local currency?

+

Because that is the unit Semrush reports, which keeps the figures comparable across countries and across monthly snapshots. Convert at the exchange rate of the period you are budgeting for.

Is the Semrush CPC what I will actually pay?

+

Not exactly. It estimates the Google Ads auction cost per click for that keyword in that market. Your real CPC depends on Quality Score, landing page quality, targeting and seasonality. Use it as a market reference and to value organic traffic, not as a quote.

How do I use this to justify SEO investment?

+

Take your target keywords' volume, apply the real CTR of the position you are aiming for, and multiply by your sector's CPC. That number is the monthly value of traffic you would stop paying for. Compare it with the cost of the SEO programme and you have your business case.
